None The first leg of this year’s Outfield Sports/Asics Three Counties Challenge Summer Series attracted a field of 152 runners and over 60 walkers to the village of Rathgormack on June 5th.The AutoPower 5-miler kicks off the very popular series of four races organised by the busy Carrick Roadrunners club.The races are held in the counties of Tipperary, Kilkenny and Waterford around the Carrick-on-Suir area where hurling rivalries add to the races’ competitive edge! In perfect running conditions Sergiu Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers took the men’s race in 26:01 from Dwane Farrell (Tinryland) and Shane Mullaney (Thurles Crokes).The ladies’ race was won by Pauline Lambe (Tullamore Harriers) in 29:39 with Madeline Loughnane (Thurles Crokes) second and Corinna Walsh (West Waterford) third.
With generous prizes for the overall series,runners still have the opportunity to complete the necessary three races.

Friday,July 3rd The Champion Kiely 5k in Ballyneale, 7:30pm
Friday,July 17th Morris Oil Piltown 10k in Piltown,Co.Kilkenny at 7:30pm
Friday,August 8th Carraig Hotel Deadman’s ‘5’ in Carrick-on-Suir at 7:30pm
