Parnell AC, as part of its 40th Anniversary celebrations, is pleased to announce details of its 10K Road Race. This will incorporate the Leinster Championships. The race will take place at 10.30AM on Sunday the 16th of August on the roads around the historic estate of Avondale, Rathdrum. The club looks forward to hosting the Championships for the first time in a number of years. Avondale is the perfect race venue to bring along friends and family. With acres of woodlands, trails and meadows, a playground and deerpen, there is something for everyone in this beauty spot of the Garden County.
There will be a prize fund of €2000 with €300 going to first man and first woman home. There will also be a bonus for any sub 30 minute finishers. The race will be run over 2 five km laps on a reasonably challenging course. All participants will be presented with a specially crafted medal to commemorate the occasion. Registration (€15 plus Leinster fee) will take place from 8AM in the Gate Lodge. Post race refreshments and prize giving will take place in a marquee on the grounds of the estate.
They look forward to welcoming runners from all over Leinster and further afield to what promises to be a good quality event.
