The Pakie Ryan Memorial Event involves participants taking part in

challenge will take place in Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare.  Three charities have been chosen and the money will be divided evenly between these three.
The 3 charities for 2011 are:

Milford Care Centre
Clare Crusaders< O'Regan Park Newmarket

The 10k run begins at the national school in Newmarket village. At the end of the 1st km the runners will begin a slow, gradual incline for 500m. The next 6kms is relatively flat with a challenging incline over the last 2kms. The race finishes outside Newmarket GAA grounds. Changing areas, showers and refreshments are all provided on the day. Water stations are located at 3 different points on the 10k run and also during the 5k walk.
2011 winner Kenny Rogers came home in a time of 32.26, cutting the 2010 time by two minutes.  The first female home was Veronica Callinan in a time of 38.28.

So far 100,000 euro has been raised for charity.  In 2010 we had 1,400 participating and this increased to 1,700 in 2011, with 1,800 in 2012   We hope to surpass this number this year.
