Olive Loughnane has been nominated for European Athlete of the month following her winning performance in Dundice. The 2009 World Championships silver medallist Loughnane finished in front of the 67 starters (47 of whom finished) in the women’s 20km event and crossed the line in 1:32:40
It was Loughnane’s first race since stomach problems forced her to drop out of the European Athletics Championships 20km walk last summer.
