ESB 5 km beach race on 17/05/2011 Just a short reminder about the ESB beach race on Tuesday evening 17 May 2011.
It is a 5 km race on Sandymount strand starting at 7.30pm. Registration will be at Clanna Gael Fontenoy GAA Club on South Link Road from 6pm.
The course this year will be slightly different from previous years. This time it will not be going around the old swimming baths but will be two ordinary out and back laps. Nevertheless, I think that it might be wise to bring old shoes just in case there are wet patches on the course.
Don’t forget that there will be traffic disruption on Tuesday so allow plenty of time to get to the race. I suspect that the best way to approach the area if you are coming from the north side is to come across the East Link toll bridge. If you are coming from the south side, it will probably be best to stay away from the quays.
