Ballybunion Event ups its game! Preparations for the second Ballybunion Half Marathon & 10k are well underway now. A new medal for the half marathon has been commissioned and 10k finishers will also receive medals. The Finishers T-shirts are going through the design process (technical T-shirts again for the Half Marathon) and the initial draft designs look very good!
In terms of the event, the organisers are pleased to announce the following: There will be cash prizes for the overall winners, overall second place and overall third place in both the male and female Half Marathon. The respective male and female winners will receive cash prizes of €500 each with second place receiving €250 and third place receiving €150.
Spread the word!! There will be a free children’s fun run which will commence thirty minutes before the start of the main event. The fun run, which is not a race, is open to all children of primary school going age, and entry is free. The distance of this run is approximately 1 kilometre and there will be 300 commemorative T shirts for distribution to the participants.
So bring the kids along and make them part of the day! Race entry this year will include food, beverages and after event entertainment.
