The race is a half marathon trail run which follows the ‘Old Kenmare Road’ on the Kerry Way to Muckross House in Killarney National Park.
Our goal is to provide competitors with a decent challenge and a great night out in Killarney to follow!
Former Irish champion and kerryman, John Lenihan, has used this circuit as part of his training regime and rates it a ‘good test’!
Course: the course involves a series of steady climbs/descents over some of Ireland’s most beautiful countryside. the start point is Kenmare town centre and the route will involve a mixture of tar road, green road with some rocky and marshy areas thrown in for good measure. the race will commence at sea level to a maximum height of 320m. Theres one steep descent at Torc Waterfall as runners approach Killarney and then its gravel all the way to the grounds of the lovely Muckross House. Transport: Coaches will leave Killarney at 9am on race morning to Kenmare. Post-race shuttle buses from Muckross to Killarney town centre.
