Phoenix Park @ 1 p.m.

All those seeking a New Years Challenge can go along to the Phoenix Park and run in the Liffey Valley A.C. promotion the Tom Brennan Memorial 5k Road Race starting at 1 p.m.

The two lap loop is flat and if conditions are good runners could get their running year underway with a fast time and maybe a new p.b.

James Nolan’s course record of 14m 39s set in very windy conditions could be broken if the conditions are right.

Entries will be taken up to 30 minutes before the start on The Furze Road.

Further information and assistance from Nick Davis 087-2286913.

A record field of runners from the throughout the north east assembled at Mullaghmeen Forest near Oldcastle for the third staging of the Meath Hill Running championships.
