Inaugural Mid Ulster Mini Marathon Easter Monday 5th April 2010 will see the village of Eglish host the inaugural Mid Ulster Mini Marathon 10K. Ideally located on the outskirts of Dungannon and at the end of the M1 motorway, access to the event is easily accessible. It is planned to make this an annual event and it caters for all types of athletes; from the competitive road runner to those interested in partaking in a shorter fun run / walk. The event has been encouraged by both Dungannon and Armagh Mayors Robert Mulligan and Thomas O’Hanlon. Running and walking are enjoyable and healthy ways to help keep active outdoors. This event is an excellent stepping stone to getting started in similar activities or to enhance an already enthusiastic runner. The race starts at 12.30p.m and the course begins and finishes at the local Sports Hall in Eglish with tea and refreshments provided afterwards. Registration forms are available to download from www.mini-marathon.net from Friday 5th March 2010 onwards. To pre-register costs £ 12.00 or £ 15.00 to register on day of event.
