The Mick Murphy memorial four miles road race and fun run takes place on Saturday September 15th 2012 at 5pm in Ferns village, Co. Wexford. The run is organised by Sliabh Buidhe Rovers A.C. and is an accurately measured course using Jones counter – each mile is marked and fully stewarded. The race is open to everyone, men and women alike, at all levels of running experience and welcomes newcomers and people who just want a challenge and a great day out at an event with a friendly village atmosphere. Chip timing for all runners. Entry fee is 17 euro online (via www.runireland.com) or 20 euro on raceday in Ferns community centre from 3-30pm. Refreshments will be served after the race in ”The Courtyard”, Ferns, followed by prize giving and race video. . Prize fund in excess of 2,000 euro cash: – Cash prizes for first three senior males and first three senior females – Cash prizes in vets categories of 0ver-40, Over-45, 0ver-50 and 0ver-55 for males and females. – Cash prizes for first junior boy and girl. – Cash prizes for first male club team and first female club team (four to score on each). – The winning male team will receive the Mick Murphy memorial cup. – E.T. Doyle Cup for the first S.B.R athlete home – Age category must be declared on entry, with one prize per athlete.
