For the month of May a whole host of activities will be celebrated around the county as part of

Mayo month. On May 21st Ballinrobe Racecourse will host a festival of running on the ambulance

track with a running distance for all to enjoy. The 1 mile (1.6km) smooth oval tarmac track provides

the perfect traffic free location for a day that the whole family can enjoy.

McHale’s the farm machinery experts are sponsoring the event so all finishers will get a special

commissioned finisher gift to mark their achievement.

The huge McHale factory is only a few hundred meters away on the Castlebar road, their success

in developing and manufacturing the world’s best farm machinery is a fitting example of why everyone

should celebrate Mayo day.

Speaking at the launch Paul Mc Hale said “We are delighted to be teamed up with Run Mayo

for this year’s Mayo day festival. This event has something to offer for all ages and levels

of running from half  marathon to 5k’s and kids races! Ballinrobe Racecourse is a fantastic

facility and should allow for an excellent event on May 21st.”

 

Events get under way from 10am, with a Half Marathon, 10k and 5k all starting at the same time.

Kids fun races will take place from 11am and it’s sure to be a great day out for all the family as the

racecourse is one of the best and safest venues in the county.
