Information The Mattie Carden Memorial 10k run/walk will take place again – on Saturday 8th March 2014 at 12.30 p.m. in Enniscrone. This year the event will also include a 5k run/walk. The inaugural run was organised to mark the 20th anniversary of Mattie Carden’s death. All proceeds in aid of the Irish Kidney Association. Due to the outcome & the positive feedback we received after the events in 2012 and 2013, it will go ahead in 2014. The run/walk starts from outside the Diamond Coast Hotel, at the bottom of the town at 12.30 pm, & finishes at the square – near the Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone. It follows a scenic route out of town, with views of the Atlantic & a couple of hills thrown in for good measure. The last leg of the run is a sweeping downhill back into the village, which any tired legs will welcome. Details to follow for the 5k route. Registration for the event can be done on RunIreland.
Chip timed For the first time this run will be chip timed. The course has been accurately measured and an AAI permit is approved.
Entry fee Early bird registration is available for all participants : Entry fee €10 until 1st Febraury, after which it will be €15 for the 10km and €10 for the 5km , all proceeds go to the Irish Kidney Association.
