The University of Ulster presents A Marathon Seminar Series
Are you thinking of running a marathon, maybe Belfast?
Are you stuck on were to start or how to plan your training? Look no further – the University of Ulster are holding a Marathon Seminar Series in November for all ages and abilities, from beginners to club runners.
The series will be presented by John T Glover, UKA Master Coach & Official Measurer of the Belfast Course along with Sports Dietician Sharon Madigan, Sports Psychologist Mary Margaret Meade and Sports Physiotherapist Chris Bleakley.
Up and Running, Belfast, will also be on hand to deliver information on correct footwear and clothing.
The Seminar Series will include 4 seminars:
Week 1; 5th November 7.00pm-9.00pm
The Challenge: Where/When/Why, Goal setting & Commitment – John T Glover
Equipment: Footwear & clothing (including gait analysis) – Up & Running.
Week 2; 12th November 7.00pm-9.00pm
The Plan: how many weeks? Training type and pace – John T Glover
Nutrition: Diet, hydration, race day intake – Sharon Madigan, Sports Dietician
Week 3; 19th November 7.00pm-9.00pm
Race Day Preparation – John T Glover
Injury Prevention (including practical) – Chris Bleakley Sports Physiotherapist
Week 4; 26th November 7.00pm-9.00pm
Belfast mile by mile – information from the official course measurer – John T Glover
Sports Psychology – Training and race day preparation – Mary Margaret Meade Sports Psycologist.
£40 for series of 4 or £12.50 per single seminar.
