Run Galway Bay, one of the most iconic running events on the racing calendar in Ireland, will take place on October 6th along the shores of Galway Bay.  Now in its 16th year the multi-distance event continues to grow in popularity and stature.

The 2018 edition of the event will see 4,000 participants take on the 10K, Half Marathon or Full Marathon. Starting and finishing in The Claddagh, the route takes in the Wild Atlantic Way along the Salthill Prom before returning to the electric atmosphere at the finish line in The Claddagh via South Park.

Participants have three distances to choose from, runners, walkers and joggers of all abilities should have no problem completing at least one of the distances. The flat and friendly 10K is perfect for those who are looking for an excuse to make a trip to the party capital of the West, have some fun and chill out with friends celebrating the achievement of completing the event.  For those with a competitive appetite, the fast and flat route on all three distances should interest anyone chasing a late-season personal best.

With many athletics clubs and large groups from companies across the country already booked to take part in the largest multi-distance running event in the West of Ireland, the event similar to last year will sell out well in advance of race day with a waitlist currently in operation for the sold out Full Marathon.

Run Galway Bay attracts participants from home and abroad yet continues to have a very local feel, so why not lace up your runners, pack your dancing shoes and join the party this October in Galway. For more information and to register for your race log onto www.rungalwaybay.com
