Larne Half Marathon

“Are you looking for a race to put the finishing touches to your preparations for the 2008 London Marathon? Or a race to tell you how well your training for Belfast is going? Or perhaps you just want to test yourself over the half marathon distance. Then look no further the Premier Power Larne Half Marathon on the 22nd of March 2008 is the ideal race for you. Run over a scenic course, which takes in part of the world-famous Antrim Coast Road, and with just enough hills to test but not tire you, the Premier Power Larne Half is the perfect opportunity for experienced runners and beginners alike to either blow the cobwebs away after a winter’s hard training or assess their level of fitness under race conditions. And its timing couldn’t be better. The three weeks between the Larne race and London on the 13th of April are more than enough time to fully recover before you step up to the line in the capital while the six weeks to Belfast on the 5th of May is sufficient time to fine tune, or make any last minute adjustments to, your training schedule. Even if running the full half marathon distance doesn’t appeal, or if you are one of the ever-increasing band of walkers out there, the Larne Half still has something to offer you, incorporating as it does a three-leg relay race and a non-competitive walk. What better way to prepare for the Belfast Marathon Relay Race than to bring your team mates to Larne for a trial run or, if your aim is to walk part or all of the Belfast Marathon course, come along and enjoy the day in the company of fellow walkers.”The 2008 Premier Power Larne Half Marathon will take place on Saturday the 22nd of March at 13:00. Larne Athletic Club are pleased to announce that this year’s event will again be sponsored by Premier Power Limited. Attracting three hundred and fifty entrants last year, it is hoped that the support of Premier Power Limited will enable the event to further grow and increase in prestige.
