Padraig Keane Memorial Race

The event will involve a 10k and 5k road race to take place around and in the vicinity of the scenic Lake O’Flynn in Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon.  Both routes are Athletics Ireland approved.

This year’s event is being run in memory of Padraig Keane who hailed from Ballinlough and previously represented Ireland in athletics but sadly passed away earlier this year.  The event will be a fundraiser for Croi – an organisation dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, particularly in the West of Ireland.  Proceeds raised from the race will donated to this worthwhile cause.

The races commence close to the village and there will be parking, changing and shower facilities provided at Michael Glavey’s Community Centre. Runners, walkers and joggers of all levels welcome on both routes.

On-line entry is now open on www.croi.ie and participants can also register on the day at Michael Glavey’s Community Centre.  Entry fees are €20 for the 10k; €15 for the 5k; €5 for under 16s.
