What is the Route Like?
The route is a MIXED TERRAIN race, with trail, tarmac and short open mountain sections, steep in places, but well worth the climb!! Trail footwear is advised. You will be racing to the summit (south cairn) and back down.
A former volcanic site, Slieve Gullion is steeped in myth and legend, and is the centre of a famous natural phenomenon called a ‘Ring Dyke’. The Ring of Gullion itself is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Hopefully we will have a clear day on November 2nd and participants will be able to enjoy spectacular views of The Ring of Gullion, The Cooley Mountains, Dundalk Bay and beyond!
£5 registration & £20 sponsorship for an individual runner.
Teams enter at a discounted rate of £100 per team of 5.
There will also be a short family walk on the day (Halloween / fancy dress). £8 per family.
