from Running in Munster There was another record turnout for the Kilnaboy 10 mile road race with 363 runners taking part, an increase of over 90 on last years figure of 270. Without doubt, the fact that it is the 4th race in the John Buckley Sports Munster Ten-Mile Spring Classics series helps draw in the larger crowds. Conditions were ok for the race but truth be told, maybe it was a little bit too windy and there was a lot of heat coming up off the road with the broken sunshine. As for the course itself, it must be hardest of the 4 races in the series. There is no big hill in it that you could say was a killer but there were plenty of littles drags which seemed to sap the energy.
As always, the race was well organised and the club even had road signs as far away as Ennis so that people could find their way to Kilnaboy. There were plenty of water stations out along the course which were very welcome on a day like today. Like last year, there was a fine spread afterwards…well done Kilnayboy AC!!
