from BHAA It will be the Garda/St. Raphael’s Credit Union cross-country race at the Phoenix Park on Saturday 21 February 2009 at 11.30am. There will be a combined start and the women’s distance will be 2.5 miles and the men’s distance will be 4 miles. Registration will be at the Garda Boat Club at Islandbridge. You will need to allow plenty of time to get from registration to the race start area.
The weather is nice, ground is firm, there is lots of grass in the Phoenix Park so I am sure that there will be very little mud which should mean a nice race.
Don’t forget that you can register online for your annual BHAA membership at www.bhaa.ie. There is a link on that page. Cost is €15.86 online. Very handy.
Finally, congratulations to all those BHAA runners who ran well in the A.A.I. National Masters and Intermediate cross-country races at Tymon Park last Sunday. Aoife Brady (Standard Life) took gold in the Intermediate; there were numerous medals in the masters and there were good performances from Kate O’Neill (Instant Comms), Crona Brady (KPMG), Tomas Fitzpatrick (Suzuki), Donna Mahon (SIAC), Mary Hanley (Dept of Enterprise) and others. Results are on the AAI website.
Bye for now.
