John Davis Run

1

Online entry open ! The John Davis Run is a 5km run race taking place on Saturday 1st March in the grounds of Malahide Castle. John Davis was a huge figure in Irish athletics over the past 20+ years who sadly passed away in 2007. John worked with many clubs throughout his time in the sport and we are staging the race to honour his incredible input and commitment. All money raised from entries and sponsorship will go to the Irish Cancer Society.

The Location
Malahide Castle, set on 250 acres of park land in the pretty seaside town of Malahide, was both a fortress and a private home for nearly eight hundred years. The Talbot family lived here from 1185 to 1973, when the last Lord Talbot died.

The Course
The course is a mixture of trail, path and road around the perimeter of the Castle grounds. It will begin and end in front of the castle itself. The route has no major hills, but is rarely flat as it winds around the grounds. You can see the course map here
