Gael Force 6 is set to return for its fourth year of action, this August! With over 800 competitors in 2008, it has become the largest multi sport event in Europe in just three years. So we are doubling our numbers again for 2009 to 1600! So why not join in a world class event and experience the challenge of the race, the camaraderie, stunning scenery and fresh Atlantic air as we welcome you to Westport in glorious county Mayo, for Gael Force 2009.

The GF6 adventure challenge will again follow last year’s 65km course from Little Killary back to Westport, via a kayaking leg on Killary Harbour and an ascent and descent of the mighty Croagh Patrick. 2007 and 2008 sold out, so make sure to get in early in 2009 to book your place!

Last year we assembled the biggest fleet of kayaks in the country on the shores of the Killary, for 2009 we are on the search for even more! We have also started to organize what is going to be the biggest and best, after party Westport has ever seen!

Gael Force 6 is a multi-sport adventure race involving biking, running, hiking and kayaking. The course of approximately 65km stretches from the stunning Glassilaun beach, south-west of Killary Harbour to Westport. En route there are some significant obstacles to cross, including Killary Harbour itself and the famous holy mountain of Croagh Patrick. The event is designed for solo competitors.

We are giving GF12 a break for 2009, to concentrate on making GF 6 the largest and most excellent adventure sport event in Europe, but watch this space for new events and races through out the year.
