19/10/2013 The Roscommon cancer Support Service is holding its annual walk/run on Saturday, 19th October at 11.00am. The race begins and ends at Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon and will take in the scenic and historic Mote Park for much of the run. This is a fun event that helps to raise awareness as well as the much needed funds for the service.
The Roscommon Cancer Support Service relies mainly on fundraising and provides Complementary Therapies and Counselling for individuals on their Cancer Journey, as well as to their families and carers. There is continuing increasing demand for the service and your participation in this event will help us to maintain the service.
This was a very successful event last year and we are aiming to create the same festive atmosphere with DJ, warm-ups for participants, pre and post event massage and face-painting for children who may be waiting to see mum or dad cross the finish line. We also hold a raffle on the day, with prizes such as gym membership, car service and holiday voucher and lunch for two.
This event is suitable for all levels of fitness and is a great way to taper off before a big event orit may provide you with a new challenge to your training programme.
