None Welcome to the 5.5 Aquathlon series in aid of MS Ireland and St. Joseph’s National School Kinvara Co. Galway. 7 Free training sessions for all those who enter the 5.5 Aquathlon Series.

Training will start this Monday at 7:30 In Kinvara then each week we will alternate.

Monday 13th & 20th July :Kinvara
Monday 27th July : Oughterard
Monday 3rd August: Kinvara
Monday 10th & 17th August : Oughterard
Monday 24th August : Kinvara

Based on the same initiative than the 25.5 Triathlon series, The perfect and FUN Beginner aquathlon series in Ireland !

The 5.5 series is made for beginners and not for serious competitors. But don’t think it is just an easy swim/run event we have some exceptional fixtures and will challenge your physical and mental skills.

Our events are fully insured, and professional lifeguards from the Galway water safety will be there for your safety along with the Red Cross.

The 5.5 Aquathlon series consists of:

– Oughterard Aquathlon 01/08/09 Oughterard, Co.Galway
– Kinvara Aquathlon 08/08/09 Kinvara, Co.Galway
– Oughterard Aquathlon 22/08/09 Oughterard, Co.Galway
– Kinvara 29/08/09 Kinvara, Co.Galway

Entry fees:
– Full series : €60 with a minimum Donation of Minimum €30 to MS Ireland

– Individual : €15 per race with a minimum Donation of Minimum €10 to MS Ireland

– Relay : €15 per race with a minimum Donation of Minimum €20 to MS Ireland

Make sure you read the following before you enter:

Winner in each Category will receive a free entry for the following year.
The Overall winner (male/female) of the series will receive a set of training gear and each Category winner of overall series will receive 5.5 Aquathlon T-shirt. Only the 3 best events to score.

– All the races consist of 0.5km swim and 5km run

Swim: wetsuit strongly recommended

Run: race numbers in the front or you might not be on the results

Registration from 9.00am to 10.00am nothing will be posted out prior to the event, the information will be posted on the runireland.com website and forum.

No showers will be provided.

Race Briefing: 10:15 am

Timing chip will provide finish time only, no splits.
