Welcome to the 2008 Focus Ireland Triathlon. We are delighted to announce that this unique event is taking place for the first time ever at Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 on Sunday August 3rd 2008.

The Focus Ireland Triathlon is open to first time triathletes, experienced competitive athletes and triathlon teams. So, whether you aspire to complete a triathlon for the very first time or want to race against the clock while also raising much needed funds for people who are homeless this is the race for you.

The race is a sprint distance event which includes a 750m swim in Grand Canal’s outer basin, a 20km lapped cycle of Dublin City’s historic quays and a 5km run.

Grand Canal Square is located at the west end of Grand Canal Dock with one side facing out on to the water. There are shops, cafés and restaurants surrounding the square and an underground car park. The large open space in the square will host the transition and spectator area.
