
Fergal Connolly wins the Film Trail Run 2014 Fergal Connolly was the first man over the line in the 5 mile Film Trail Run, which took place in Belmont Demesne & Killruddery estate on Saturday 28th June.
Fergal’s time was an impressive 32 minutes and 9 seconds.
2nd and 3rd place Joe Morrrison and Mark Riseley were hot on his heels with times of 32.29 and 32.49 respectively.
Lisa Howley was the first lady over the line in a time of 36.11, while second place went to Elaine Staunton with a time of 39.15 and third place went to Sandra Pegman with a time of 41.30
Over 100 families also took part in the 5km Film Trail Walk.
According to the event organisor, Conor O’Leary, the event was a huge success with 100% of the proceeds going to Bray Cancer Support Centre’s services in North Wicklow & Dublin.
Conor said ‘What a fun day, made special by so many people who came together to make it a great success, the participants, our amazing volunteers who work very long hours and give so much of themselves, Bray Gospel Choir, Montague Heritage Services, Planet Sound, World2000 productions & everyone at ‘Vikings’ who lent us props and even a long boat!
Thanks to Emmy Award winning costume Designer Joan Bergin who lent us a great selection of movie costumes. One item of interest on display was the coat worn by Daniel Day Lewis as he played the part of Gerry Conlon in ‘In The Name of The Father.
