An annual event in memory of Erin Curran. Erin was aged just 6 when she recently passed away due to her illness, ‘Miller-Dieker syndrome’. A rare brain disorder that meant she was completely dependant on others for all her needs. This event will be a 5k run/walk in order to raise funds for the charities involved in helping Erin and her family during her short life.
For the inaugural event we have decided to donate the funds raised to BUMBLE-ance. The very first children’s ambulance service and the world’s first interactive ambulance specifically designed for children, with the capacity to operate the latest medical equipment and inter hospital communication systems. As a charity they receive No State Funding. ”Erin’s Run” intends to make awareness of the wonderful work of BUMBLE-ance as they were the people who took Erin home from hospital safely to spend her final day with her family in her own surroundings. These journeys are called ‘Angel Trips’ and are a significant part of the work of this wonderful charity
