The Mattie Carden Memorial 10k and 5k run/walk will take place – on Saturday 5th March 2016 at 12.30 p.m. in Enniscrone. The inaugural run was organised to mark the 20th anniversary of Mattie Carden’s death. All proceeds in aid of the Irish Kidney Association.
The run/walk starts on the main road, opposite the Diamond Coast Hotel at 12.30 pm and it finishes at the square – near the Ocean Sands Hotel. The route follows a scenic route out of town, with views of the Atlantic and a couple of hills thrown in for good measure. The last leg of the run is a sweeping downhill back into the village, which any tired legs will welcome.
The 5k route starts near The Diamond Coast Hotel and it finishes near The Ocean Sands Hotel, following a similar loop, with a shorter distance in the middle.
Trophy prizes in different categories. Finisher medals for the first 150 in the 10k and the first 50 in the 5k. Refreshments afterwards in The Ocean Sands Hotel.

The course has been accurately measured and an AAI permit is approved.
Entry fee : Entry fee will be €15 for the 10km and €10 for the 5km , all proceeds go to the Irish Kidney Association.
