The Connemara International Marathon is a day of road running/racing around a very scenic part of the West of Ireland. Comprising of a Half Marathon, a Full Marathon and an on-road Ultra Marathon (39.3 miles) all taking place on the one day on April 6th 2014. Entry fee for 2014 is €70.00(Euro). The 2013 event was a sell out with over 3,000 entries with representation from 29 Countries. Details: Ultra Marathon (39.3 miles) 9:00am Full Marathon (26.2 miles) 10:30am Half Marathon (13.1 miles) 12:00pm Entry includes: Bus Transfer from Galway, Oughterard and Clifden directly to race start The race, including all the usual race support along the route. Lots and Lots and Lots of 250ml Sports Cap Bottles of Water every 3 miles approx. Sports Drinks at certain stations. Portaloos at start, finish and every 3 miles Over 270 volunteers along the route. 30 Medical Personnel and Race Doctor, 3 Ambulances and a Medic Motorbike. Hopefully the elation of finishing one of the world’s truly magical marathon experiences. Your Finishers Medal. Your Finishers Technical Tee Shirt. (The classic Blue ‘I Hit the Wall in Connemara’ ones that you see everywhere) Lots of fruit and yet more water at the finish. Post Race refreshments at finish area. Buses back to your starting location (78 buses were employed by the 2013 Connemarathon).
