The annual Donegal 5k road championship which which is pretty much the conclusion of the donegal grand prix series which in 2012 once again brought thousands onto the roads and streets of the county was held in Convoy this year to acknowledge the memory of local athlete Shane Bonner . A trophy in his memory for the winner was won by Conor Bradley from Derry and something like 550 turned up at the Gaa grounds to register whether it was run jog or walk .
The female winner valleys Teresa mc Gloin while leading juniors were Ruairi Finnegan Lac and Sara Moore Omagh . It was yet another very positive community event with Carndonagh native Karol Doherty the wheelchair winner . Team victories were shared by Valley and Lac .
Next fixture is the primary schools Sept 26 with the secondary schools on Sept 27 both at Finn Valley
