0

Following the popularity and success of last years inaugural 10k run, Donadea running club are proud to announce the 2nd Donadea Forest 10K run to be held in the Coillte Donadea Forest Park. The event will take place on Saturday 10th October at 11.00am. The run will start from St Kevin’s GAA Club in Staplestown and will continue into the scenic and tranquil forest park and finish by the castle inside the forest. The course has been measured accurately to the distance of 10 Kilometers. To keep things interesting the course shall be slightly different this year.

The event has been organized to support the local community and to bring runners from Kildare and all over Ireland together. It is also an opportunity to take part in an event for all to enjoy and give something back. The proceeds from the run will go the Little Way Cancer Support Centre (Email them by clicking here) that has branches in both Clane and Athy and also to support all the good work taking place in the local community.

The founder of Donadea Running Club Jo Cawley says “This is the 2nd running event to take place in the local area and the committee is working hard to ensure everyone has a positive and memorable experience. We are hoping to repeat the success of last year and due to a strong demand the numbers taking part this year, will be increased from 400 to 600. It is a great way to support a local charity keep fit, have fun and meet other like minded people”

All those who complete the run will not only experience the full beauty of Donadea Forest Park but will also receive a unique 10K medal and a goodie bag containing a 10K run T shirt. The run is open to the first 600 entries only and it is offered on a first come first served basis. You can apply online by clicking here.
