Donadea Duathlon & Run Series June Results

Course record broken in Race 1 of Series I want to thank everyone for making Race 1 of the Donadea Series such a success. It was great to see so many new faces to both the 5K Run and the Duathlon events. Many of you where attempting these type of events for the first time. You all did brilliantly! With some impressive times for many first-timers. Hopefully the training will increase your times for the Duathlon in the second stage of the series. I hope everyone is ready for the 8K on the 7th July.

Results have been up on the trailrunner.ie and Actiontiming.ie sites, and can be viewed following this link. I know they encouraged you along the way. They are already hard at work on perfecting this. The course record are still held in place for the 5k run. But the Duathlon was a different story. It was great to see so many clubs battling it out. There were club members from Midlands, Wicklow, Naas, 3d, Cork tri clubs with many other clubs for running to canoeing. "Cathal Denis O’Donovan", from Cork Tri Club smashed the current record by producing a time of 01:11:26, taking 00:00:42 off "Cian Delaney’s" course record, from last year. Well done Cathal, who drove up from Cork that morning. Hope to see you all for stage 2 of the series. The Duathlon follows the exact same course. In the run we have added an extra 3K to make it an 8K Trail run throughout the forest. Everyone who registers by the 30 June will get a free t-shirt To register for race 2 and race 3 of the Duathlon Series.
