This event is one of the best duathlon routes that Ireland has to offer, starting with a 5.2km forest run past the Donadea forest castle and lake, then out onto quiet country roads for a one 21K continuous lap. The route , very flat and fast, on return you have to complete the 5.2 km run to the finish line. This course is ideal for those who are trying this type of event for the first time.

The race has in the past seen both male and female National Champions a Collegiate Duathlon Champion and the winner of the Motivate 65 challenge take glory. The current womens record is held by Elis Conway and David Duke holds the mens record.

We pride ourselves on our motto “Finishing is the achievement” and always look forward to first timers where we will be on call for: any questions, advice or some small mechanical repairs prior to the event.

New this year the event will be chip timed and all entries received one week prior to the event will receive a Race T shirt. We have also added a series discount price. The local Scout troop will receive a donation for marshalling the event.

The Run Series

The distances for this series are 5K, 8K and 10K.

These run follow and meander through the beautiful forest of Donadea. The run is mainly on path and gravel paths but we still love it. Thats why it is in the trailrunner group of events. This course is ideal for those who wish to start trailrunning. It is mainly flat and therefore a fast course. The series is ideal for those wish to improve their distances and times for these distances.
