Cork Marathon

After a very successful inaugrual marathon in 2007, the Cork City Marathon organisers anticipate a significant increase in participants for 2008. Early entry is advised and…it’s cheaper! A staggered entry fee system is in place for 2008, with the 2007 rates applying only until the end of March.

The race takes place on the (Irish) June Bank Holiday Monday, June 2nd 2008. The course will again start and finish on St Patrick’s Street and will cover a clockwise circuit of the suburbs, stepping into the county to the east and west. For the most part, the course will follow the 2007 route, but please note that it is still subject to confirmation.

Regular updates will be posted on our website at www.corkcitymarathon.ie.

A staggered entry fee system is in place for 2008.
Entry for the individual marathon (including wheelchair category) costs:
€50 until 31st March ’08;
€60 from 1st to 28th April ’08;
€70 from 29th April to 9th May.
Entry for the Team Relay Event costs:
€80 until March 31st;
€90 from 1st to 28th April;
€100 from 29th April to May 9th.

The Cork City Marathon course, of 42.195km, is accredited by the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI), under the international standards determined by the IAAF. Officials from the AAI will oversee compliance with these regulations. The race is open to all licensed or non-licensed athletes and runners who will be 18 years of age or over on 2nd June 2008.
