Cope Ocean Triathlon took place this morning in almost perfect conditions. Local man Ruaidhrí Geraghty took the honours today in a time of 1:06:58, foolowed closely by Galyway Tri club team mate Arthur Beades in 1:08:32. Galway Tri club weren’t allowed fill the whole podium as 3rd place was ably taken by Cian Lynch of Tri Lakes in 1:09:04.
Galway Tri club featured in the ladies and relay results also, a great turn out from the local club. Edel Tighe (1:16:17) was first lady home, followed by Doris Laepple, Galway Tri Club (1:19:36) and Ruth Samuels, also Galway in 1:20:08.
The relay team was composed of Simon Ashe, Rod Friers and Thomas King 1:19:36.
A great day was had by all, with rain holding off and calm seas. Many thanks to all who participated and all involved in making it happen.
