Connemara Adventure Challenge back for a 3rd year

Connemara set for great adventure race Plans have already begun for the third Connemara Adventure Challenge, set to take place on the 12th May. The course has been designed to be achievable by all levels of fitness so whether you have set your goal to get fit for 2012 or are a fitness guru, this event is for you.

The race route will see you run, cycle and kayak through some of the most spectacular scenery Connemara has to offer. You will run parts of the western way, cycle on Coillte Forest tracks and paddle on Killary Harbour, to give you some idea of the what in involved. The whole course is approximately 31km, making it less than half of the distance of Gaelforce West. It is also much flatter than the Gaelforce West course with just one hill to climb and quite a flat cycle. But the organisers do warn to get some training in on bog as this often catches people out. This is a great training event for Gaelforce West and is topped off with a great after party! The event will be held in and around Killary Adventure Centre in Leenane, Co. Galway on the 12th May 2012. For full details, to register, to help out at the event or to view other events check out www.gaelforceevents.com/connemara.
