Colemanstown 10K Run
Following the success of last year, Colemanstown United F.C. are holding their second successive 10k run on Easter weekend. This year the race will be held on Holy Saturday 7th April 2012 @ 12 noon. It is open to male and female runners, joggers and walkers.
Colemanstown is situated off the main Monivea to Menlough Road R339 by turning right at Garbally castle (approx 5 miles from Monivea). It is easily accessible from the M6 by taking the exit for Athenry.
This race takes place in a lovely quiet rural area. It is a relativey fast flat loop course on a tar road that touches on a forest and part of the route runs along by a river. There are 2 slight elevations between the 2k and 3k marks. The route can be viewed https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/28343704. A permit from Athletics Association of Ireland has been granted and the course has been officially measured using a Jones’s Counter.
Online registration is available through Run Ireland. The cost of registration for the 10k is €17 for early entries before Friday 7th March, and €20 for all entries after that date. On-line entries cannot be made after Thursday 5th April at 12 noon. Registration will be accepted on the morning of the run between 10.00 am and 11.30 am at the Colemanstown Utd Clubhouse.

A 1k fun run for children commences at 11 am with a medal for all who complete the course. All participants in this category will have to be assembled at the club house no later than 10.30 am. Entry €2 for kids run.
