Clonakilty Duathlon On Sunday 19th September it may be said that all roads lead to Croke Park for the All Ireland Football final. However for those who are not travelling to Dublin all roads certainly lead to Clonakilty. With over 140 competitors currently entered this promises to be a great event, in a cracking location.

Clonakilty Triathlon Club present Clonakilty Duathlon, Sunday 19th September 2010, 10:30am. This is a Triathlon Ireland affiliated sprint distance duathlon. The 3km run-20km cycle-3km run is being run on one of the most scenic locations in Ireland. Entry is only €15 and registration is now open for Individual and Relay Teams. Pre-registration for the event is required, so to avoid disappointment book early. Closing date for entries is extended to 12pm Saturday 18th September 2010. We will now be taking a limited number of entries on the day. Note as this is a Triathlon Ireland affiliated event either a full Triathlon Ireland licence or one day licence will be required to race.

Cash prizes are available for the top three male and female finishers, however Clonakilty Duathlon is catering for all levels of fitness, beginners to competitive athletes. Clonakilty Duathlon is on the same weekend as Clonakilty International Guitar Festival. So if you are aged between 16 and 80 years plus, why not dust off those bikes along with your guitars for the weekend. You can also enter as a relay team (one runner and one cyclist) if you want to share the workload. Even if you don’t want to bring a bicycle down for the weekend, bicycles can be rented at MTM Cycles, Ashe Street, Clonakilty for €10 per day. Contact Murph on (023) 8833584.
