NB: All sponsorship forms have to be returned on race day. Please ensure that even unused sponsorship forms are returned, as we have to account for every one of them.
Please send to Clifden Lifeboat 10k, c/o 51 Tullyvoheen, Clifden, Co Galway. If sending a cheque they should be made out to Clifden Lifeboat 10k.

The Runners Category will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes each for women’s and men’s.
Teams: The finish time of the first 3 participants in each particular team will be added up together, this will then be averaged out for the final result. There will be a trophy as well as a prize, and individual medals for each contestant of the winning team and runner up team, 3rd place team will receive individual medals.
Walkers Category: will have trophies, medals and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Children’s Category: 13-15 yrs race will leave at the same time as the walkers category and will do the same route. The following age groups will have fun races off the main road: 10-12 yrs, 7-9 yrs and under 7yrs old. However, parents taking part in the walk can have their child accompany them should they wish to.
Other prizes available for best fancy dress, oldest person taking part, best fundraiser etc…

BEFORE THE RACE:
Registration will be held in Mannion’s Bar, Market street, Clifden.
And will open at: 12 noon.
All contestants need to register on arrival. At registration you will be given your number and timing chip (for runners and teams only).
Changing facilities are available at the GAA pitch (please see map of Clifden).

The Race timetable is as follows:
Runners: 2pm sharp
Teams: 2.10pm
Walkers/children13-15yrs: 2.20pm

The start of the race is at the Court House (see map and info below).

The route is as follows:
From the Court House, up the Westport rd and first turn left onto Churchill, to the end. Keep right, onto the Sky Rd. Stay on the Sky rd all the way as far as the road to a quarry on the right. This is your turn back point. You cannot miss it, as there will be race marshals in attendance as well as a water station. Please ensure that you give your race number to race marshal at that point.
Return the same way on the Sky Rd, as far as Churchill. Do not go onto Churchill; keep right, past the town hall on the left, and the Thomas Wheelan memorial on the right, straight ahead to the Town Square and the finish line.

The fun runs for children up to and including 12yrs of age will not take place on the main road due to safety issues. You will be given more details on the day, however this will be within Clifden town.
Their race will start at 1.45pm.

Note: Because we are aware that some adults are taking part in other categories, children who are registered in the fun runs can be left there until the end of the last adult race. However please ensure that your child knows who will collect him/her. And, that they understand and are comfortable with this.

AFTER THE RACE:

Please do not forget to collect your certificate at the finish line.

Showers and changing facilities are available at the 2 following places:
• GAA pitch (see map of Clifden)
• Shannaheever campsite (see google map for directions)

Prize giving will take place once all the races are finished in Mannion’s Bar, Market Street. Refreshments will be served.

• Supervalu supermarket, the Square, (enter, and turn left at trolleys).

• Coach park across from the Station House Hotel on the N59

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

1. Participants will obey all marshals.
2. As this is not a closed road event, please use care and show respect to other road users.
3. Please respect the countryside, do not litter.
4. Participants enter at their own risk and accept that the organisers and sponsors will not be responsible for any injury suffered or property stolen/damaged during this event.
