This is the seventh consecutive year of the Clarinbridge 10k which is held on the grounds of Kilcornan, Clarinbridge, Co. Galway. It is a fun sporting event, with a beautiful scenic route partially through a wooded area. All levels of fitness are welcomed, from runners to walkers.
The primary purpose of this race is to raise funds for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust Fund, which is a registered charity in Ireland. Each year at Easter, the Trust travels on pilgrimage and on holiday to Lourdes with young people with special needs. This is what the funds raised will go towards.
The race route has been accurately measured and will be timed correctly, using specialised chip timing equipment from ‘Red tag timing’. There will be post-race refreshments available to all, as well as showering facilities and prize presentation in the swimming pool complex.
The race will be held at 12.30pm on the 3rd of January, 2016. Registration will be on the day only from 10.30am to 12pm at the swimming pool complex. The race is being aimed at a wide cross-section of runners, joggers and walkers, with those fastest starting first. The local community are an integral part of race organisation, as are the local Gardaí.
