A Message From Charlie Jnr: This event is run in memory of my dad Charlie Curran who passed away due to a heart attack on 27/02/2005 at the age of 52. I couldn’t think of a better way to remember him than to host this event which brings both the young and old and people of all ages together in such a positive way both running and walking as we all know the benefits this has on our everyday lives. My father was a very active sportsman be it hurling football fishing or shooting I don’t think there’s nothing he didn’t turn his hand too. The first year of the event was organised in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation but after seen so many smiling faces of the young children that took part I’ve decided incorporate Heart Children Ireland into this years event. My dad was passionate about to encourage the young kids to take up a sport as a way to be active god knows he tried many a time to get me to get out there take up a sport. The main aim of this event is to bring together people of walks of life on one day cherish the fact that we are fit and able to get up and get active. And also a chance for people to remember loved ones who may have passed or who suffered heart related issues. I cant wait to meet everyone on the day and thank you all for your kind support.
