The Celbridge 5K takes place every August usually on a Sunday morning in the middle of August. This year the event will take place on Sunday the 14th of August at 11am. It will be run on the same 5K route as last year. The first Celbridge 5K took place in 2008. The race has attracted some international athletes such as Vinny Mulvey and John Travers and our own local Olympian Mark Kenneally. In 2014 John Travers set a new male course record of 14.43. Orla Drumm of Crusaders AC is the current female course record holder in a time of 17.05. The current course is renowned for being flat and fast. Donore Harriers have dominated the team prize for the past few years with both male and female teams coming in first. However, in 2015 this trend was bucked when the race host’s team, Celbridge AC, won the men’s title and Dunboyne AC won the female title.
Entry fee this year is €15 and you can register on this page. The race is Athletics Ireland permit permitted. Pop Up Races will do the race’s chip timing this year. We look forward to welcoming you!
