Due to the great success of over the past two years of the Cavankayakarun Challenge XL for the more Elite athletes, we will be including it again in Cavankayakarun 2014 with one change. The original course of the past 3 years, a 5k run, 1 kayak and a 16 k cycle stays the same for all other entrants. The Cavankayakarun Challenge XL route starts with the 5k run, followed by a 2k kayak, and a new 5k trail run and concluding with a 55 k cycle, which will cross a few of the hardest climbs in east Cavan. The Cavan Kayakarun is a local community event, and with the generous help of local people, we can guarantee a well marshalled and a safe passage for all the competitors. Alongside that there is a great social attraction with music in Gallonray House, on the Friday and also on the Saturday night after the event.
