Carrick-on-Suir Triathlon

The Course:

First run in 1994, the Carrick Tri is one of the most established events on the annual race calendar. Set along the banks of the River Suir, and nestled between the Comeragh Mountains and Slievenamon, the event is renown for the beauty of its surrounds and fairness as a triathlon course.

The swim takes place in the River Suir and starts 750m upriver of the transition area. The Tryathlon will commence 500m upriver of the transition area.

The cycle route is fast with flat course aside from a small hill at the start. The road surface is very good apart from a poor stretch of a couple kilometres at the half way point.

The run is a one-lap course, the first portion using the same road as the cycle leg. At the halfway point competitors turn onto a scenic river path to the finish line.

Transition is situated in a scenic and spacious park right between the river and the cycle/run routes.
