Anne Riley, organiser of The Marian Geraghty Memorial Run said “This event has been instrumental in increasing public awareness of this often debilitating disease and proudly donates all funding to the Irish Sarcoidosis Support Network Charity (ISARC). We are looking forward to this year’s 10th Anniversary event and hopefully even more people will get involved. There is such a great buzz around Mount Bolus on race day and taking part is such an uplifting sense of achievement for most runners. We actively encourage individuals of all levels and abilities to take part – from first timers to professional athletes, for charity or a sense of personal achievement.”
The Marian Geraghty Memorial Run started in July 2004 in memory of Marian who passed away, having battled the disease for over 20 years. In its tenth year, the run and celebrations afterwards will be even bigger so a non-stop afternoon of activities will take place in Mount Bolus appealing to all families with young children.
