Teams supporting the Bull Run for charity ‘Bull Run’ 5km in Navan on Sunday the 27th of October (Halloween weekend) will see participants from a range of activities taking part. Members of the Meath Bulldogs, Meath Karate, Navan Cycling Road Club and a host of other individuals will be threading Navan town thoroughfare on this 5km run or walk event. Start time 10.50am with sign on from 8.30am and collection of run numbers.
This is the first Bull Run 5km and stating the obvious will commence facing the Bull monument in Navan Town centre on Trimgate Street. As it is the Halloween weekend fancy dress is optional and there is a prize for the best costume for those wishing to dress up on the day. The terrain is suitable for all levels of fitness. Starting off slightly downhill then rising gently with one gradual hill early on. The event is organised by the award winning charity Aisling Group International who will benefit from the proceeds. All of which goes to providing counseling and support to the many people suffering from depression, suicidal tendencies, drug/alcohol misuse prevention, recovery and reducing the negative effects on their loved ones and family members. The charity helps people grow to their full potential with care, support and training. The membership fee covers the costs also for administration and providing a well earned medal at the finish. Aisling Group Int. successfully hosted the memorable M3 cycle on the M3 Motorway prior to its opening which included 100km of road to govern for a day and will be the only time such an event can take place on the Motorway. On that occasion approximately 1700 took part. once again as the first Bull Run ever in Navan Town this promises to be fun, well organised and done in the spirit of goodwill and Halloween spooks. Another reason to run faster on the day. Suitable footwear and clothing for the climate of the day and the world is your oyster.
