The fifth annual Boston Scientific 5k took place on Wednesday evening in Maree with a record field of 284 (mostly) smiling finishers. The organisers would like to thank all the people who took part in the race and who helped out in a myriad of ways. All proceeds will go to the Boston Scientific Charity of the Year – Ability West.
A bunch of three were inseparable from gun-to-tape and only 2.5 seconds separated TJ McHugh, Ian Egan and Billy King in a terrific sprint finish to the line. TJ’s winning time of 16:35 earned him first prize on the night.
Mayo AC were to the fore in the Ladies prizes too, where Catherine Conway claimed first prize in 18:34, followed closely by Nichola O’Ceallaigh in 18:50 and Regina Casey in 20:02.
