Brand new Half Marathon & 10K for the North Coast. Following the success of their SURF’n’TURF race in Curracloe Co. Wexford last year, BORN2RUN Events have decided to bring the event North to Benone Strand, near Limavady, Co. Derry.
Runners will once again have a choice of two distances, with a half marathon and a 10K, runners are bound to enjoy this race whatever their race distance preference.
The BORN2RUN team went looking for a location that would combine a mix of road, boardwalk and beach and were blown away when they first visited Benone strand. ‘The location is perfect, exactly what we were looking for’ said Jane Rowe of BORN2RUN Events. BORN2RUN’s motto is GREAT RACES IN GREAT PLACES and their races are always set in areas of outstanding natural beauty. ‘Benone ticked every box for us’ said Jane, ‘The beach has miles of hard sand suitable for running on and the elevated country road offers runners awesome views west across the Inishowen Peninsula to Donegal and east to Scotland’.
BORN2RUN have carved out a niche and established a reputation for organising quality events. Their loyal followers come from all over Ireland and beyond. Everyone who takes part will receive a beautiful commemorative medal as a souvenir of their achievement.
BORN2RUN’s chosen charity is Marie Curie Cancer Care and they will make a donation to them from the race proceeds.
This race will be chip-timed and all runners will be treated to a post race BBQ weather permitting.
