5km fun RUN-WALK-CRAWL This promises to be a Fun Friendly Day out. 2011 is the first year of the fun run and hopes to become an annual event – all going well. The run will begin at the quintessential Blue Light pub in the Dublin Mountains, a short distance away from Stepaside village and the M50 Motorway. Starting with a narrow trail which leads onto a majestic forest track that heads to the top of the Tree Rock mountain, (2.8km). At the summit of Tree Rock there are some spectacular panoramic views to be had of the greater dublin area and around. The descent takes you back alongside the forest to your starting point, over various challenging terrain, also with breath taking views, avoiding any possible clashes with the wildlife such as Deer’s, Stags etc. (offering some ‘stiff’ competition.)
On route we have a professional photographer (Chris Ducker, www.redcarpetdublin.com) who will be onhand to snap your grueling faces on this pleasant but sometimes challenging track. All photos will be available to purchase online a day or two post race, with a large portion of the money going back into Team Hope.
On finishing the race a small goodie bag sponsered by wheelworx.com containing some treats and of course your well deserved medal. Prizes for 1st,2nd,3rd. Hot food, tea, coffee and minerals also served and if you feel up to it and you have a DESIGNATED driver the Blue Light boasts the best pint of guiness around. Other suprises on the day.
