The Blackwater 10k has certainly become an annual fixture in Monaghan’s Calendar as the event continues to grow in entries each year.
Starting off from Monaghan United Football grounds, runners of all ages lead the way to Rossmore Forest Park. Walkers follow with the sound of chatter and laughter filling the air in a more relaxed pace with parent of children in pushchairs joining in and taking in the beautiful surroundings of this fine forest park.
Challenge yourself to the 10k run, take it easier with the 10k walk or come for a short sprint / family walk with our 4km option.

The Blackwater 10k Run & Walk (forest trail) is in its 8th year and its great success has been made only been possible due to the strong commitment of the organising committee – compromising of a very dedicated group of people and aided by a brilliant team of ‘event’ volunteers to make the whole thing possible.
The beauty of this event is the natural surroundings of Rossmore Forest park that encompass the run / walk but also the ‘Family Fun’ atmosphere and DJ who keeps the latest tunes playing out across the air as we welcome the return of the walkers / runners across the finish line.
