The Blackwater 10k has certainly become an annual fixture in the Monaghan Run calendar and the event has continued to grow throughout the years with the help of the Lion’s Club, volunteers, friends and families.
The Blackwater10k incorporates Rossmore Park a most beautiful forest setting on the outskirts of Monaghan Town.
The family event itself accommodates everyone as it is a sporting occasion for the runner (with the 10km challenge), provides a beautiful scenic walk for the walkers (who can also take the 10km challenge) and accommodates the beginner runners, casual walker, children with the fun run option.
The main aim is for everyone to have an enjoyable day while helping others. The main event will feature the 10k race sanctioned by the Athletic Association of Ireland.
